Dolores “Dodi” (Etts) Allen
April 3, 1935 - December 8, 2009
Dolores "Dodi" Allen, 74, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday December 10, 2009, in LaPorte Hospital.
She was born on April 3, 1935, to the late Merlyn and Catherine (Wolfram) Etts. On June 16, 1956, she married Larry Allen, who preceded her in death on September 12, 2006.
Dolores is survived by her daughters, Susan Allen and Sandra Gamble; her son Ted (Susanne) Allen, all of New Carlisle; four grandchildren, Michael Schmidt, Austin Gamble, Faye Allen and Gregory Gamble; and by two great-grandchildren, Briley and Lauren Schmidt.
Mrs. Allen was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority in New Carlisle, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and was a parishioner of St. John Kanty Catholic Church, Rolling Prairie. She enjoyed flower gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, bowling and watching the sunrises and sunsets on the lake.
A memorial gathering will take place for Dodi at 1 pm Saturday December 12, 2009, in the American Legion Post #297, New Carlisle. Kaniewski Funeral Homes, New Carlisle, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Carlisle Ambulance Fund.
