Aloysius A. “Al” Zmyslo

SOUTH BEND - South Bend - Aloysius “Al” Zmyslo, 90, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the West Bend Nursing Facility. Al was born April 11, 1925 in South Bend to the late Paul and Josephine (Watroba) Zmyslo. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Rita Banicki; son, Alan Zmyslo; two sisters; and five brothers.

On July 14, 1962, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, Al married Rose (Sulok) Zmyslo, she survives along with daughters, Alison Huener of New Carlisle and Laurie (Daniel) Doherty of Lake Forest, IL; and grandchildren,Jordan Szymanowski, Emily and Wesley Huener, Thomas and Brian Doherty.

Al honorably served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a machinist with Bendix, MB Skinner, Curtis Products, and Torrington through the years, Al retired in 1988. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Terra Coupe where he was a member of the Ushers Club. Also, he was a member of St. Joe Society Club and American Legion Post 357.

Visitation for Al is 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 21, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd where a Rosary will be prayed at 3:15 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
