Eugene C. Wrzesien

SOUTH BEND Eugene C. Wrzesien, 74, of Bloomfield Place, South Bend, Ind., died at 10:06 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, in : St. Joseph's Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 29, 1923, in South Bend, and lived in this area all of his life. He retired as chief operator for, the City of South Bend's Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Mr. Wrzesien was married on. Aug. 19, 1944, in South Bend, to Ruth Singleton, who survives. He is also survived by his son, Robert E. Wrzesien of South Bend; two grandchildren, Robin.. Wrzesien and Robert E. Wrzesien, Jr., both of South Bend; and by two great-grandchildren, Dylen and Catherine Wrzesien of South Bend.

He was preceded in death by his son, William Michael Wrzesien, who died in 1971.

Mr. Wrzesien was a member of St. Mary Polish National Catholic Church, St. Joseph Young Men's Society and Masonic Lodge 45. He was also an Army veteran of World War Il and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Calling hours were from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary was said at 6 p.m. on Monday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery
