Frank R. Van Rassen

MISHAWAKA  Frank R. Van Rassen, 67, of 451 White Oak Drive, died at 2:47 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Van Rassen retired from South Bend Lathe in 1991. He was born May 16, 1926, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Nov. 28, 1975, in Niles, he married Angela Tuerffs. She survives with two daughters, Kathleen Borkowski of Niles and Marsha Anderson of Homestead, Fla.; a son, Lawrence of Mishawaka; four granddaughters; and three sisters, Patty Moore of South Bend, Lillian Gillis of Moline, Ill., and Mary Ann Van Rassen of Dowagiac.

He was a member of BK Club, Mishawaka Eagles Post 2083, Mishawaka Moose Lodge 1262, and North Liberty American Legion Post 365. He was a Marine veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial will be Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association of St. Joseph County
