Raymond J. Niedbalski

Dec. 15, 1927 - Oct. 18, 1999 Raymond J. Niedbalski, 71, of South Bend, passed away at 12:43 p.m., Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, in Hospice House. Mr. Niedbalski was born on Dec. 15, 1927, in South Bend and was a lifelong resident. He retired in September 1980 as a truck driver with Michiana Beverage.

On Feb. 4, 1950, in South Bend, he married, Joan M. Rakowski, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Roseann (Louis) Vittorie of South Bend, Jack R. (Jamie) Niedbalski of Islamorada, Fla.; four grandchildren, Noell Vittorie, Andrea Vittorie, Kellee Niedbalski, Jake Niedbalski; and a step grandson, Michael Carrawa.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Wolters; and five brothers, Bernard, Casimer, Eugene, Donald, and Jack Niedbalski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, in Christ the King Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish vigil will be held at 5 p.m. Mr. Niedbalski was a member of Christ the King Parish.

He was a W.W. Il Navy veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Post #624.
