Rosemary (Milavecz) Pastor

Rosemary Pastor, 77, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away of natural causes Thursday, September 29, 2005, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center in South Bend. Rosemary was born February 18, 1928, to Michael and Rose (Pinter) Milavecz in South Bend. On June 25, 1949, Rosemary married Mr. John Pastor at St. Steven's Church in South Bend. John preceded her in death, passing away August 9, 2004. Surviving are her daughters, Michele (John) Diltz of Kissimee, Florida, and Cheryl (Carl) Van Der Heyden of Granger; along with four grandchildren, John (Erica) Diltz of Clarimont, Florida, Angela, Olivia and Rocco Rovario of Granger.
Also preceding Mrs. Pastor in death was her brother, Robert Millay.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, October 2, 2005, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, where a Rosary service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. There will also be an hour of visitation prior to the 10:00 a.m. service Monday, October 3, 2005. Rev. Terry Fisher of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church will officiate, and interment will be held in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Rosemary was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1946. Her many jobs throughout her lifetime included being the first secretary at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, teaching Harvest Dancing at St Steven's Church, working at City Hall in South Bend, working at the Studebaker Corporation and the School City of South Bend, in particular, Lincoln School. In addition to these employers, she was a politician, and was the precinct committee woman, and ran for three other offices during her political career. Later in life, she and her husband John owned and operated the Deluxe Sandwich Shop and the LaSalle West Coffee Shop until her retirement in 1973. Rosemary was also a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in South Bend.
