SOUTH BEND Edward R. Kaczmarek, 62, of 1218 Woodward Ave., died about 1 p.m. Friday in his home. He retired from Allied Bendix Corp. after 10 years, and was employed for 16 years years by Drewry's Limited, and the 1100 Corp. Born Feb. 26, 1928, in South Bend, he was a lifetime area resident.

On Sept. 5, 1953, in South Bend, he married Nancy J. Tomolak. She survives, with two daughters, Lynn Pulaski and Keri Kaczmarek, both of South Bend; a son, Doug of Farmington Hills, Mich.; a granddaughter; a sister, Anna Phillips of South Bend; and a brother, Marion Kaczmarek of South Bend.

Mr. Kaczmarek was a member of  Holy Cross Catholic Church and 2.B. Falcons, Volkskring, and was a World War II Army veteran.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Entombment will be at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish wake will be at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph Co.
