Robert Lewis Jones
Robert L. Jones, 59, of 1436 E. Third St., died at 2:09 a.m. Saturday, Mar 21, 1987, in the emergency room of St. Joseph Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. He had been a member of the Mishawaka Police Department since 1959, where he had been serving as computer coordinator. He was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Miami County, Indiana, and spent most of his life in this area.
On March 27, 1955, in Mishawaka, he married Paula M. Stabrowski, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Ann M. Jones, at home; three sons, Terrence K. of Kent, Ohio, and Brian D. and Joseph M., both at home; three grandchildren; his mother, Thelma C., Jones of South Bend; three sisters, Mary Fulkerson and Nancy Meyers, both of South Bend, and Christina Anderson of Lorain, Ohio; three brothers, William of Allentown, Pa., Charles of Germany and Lyall of Fort Benning, Ga.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to" 9 p.m. Monday. A parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Another rosary service is planned at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home by the Associates of St. Joseph, an affiliation of the Holy Cross Brothers.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 91, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 58, South Bend, the Associates of St. Joseph
