Charles L. Waggoner, 80, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007, in his home. Mr. Waggoner was born on July 28, 1926, in South Bend, Indiana, to Leslie L. and Antoinette (Dubczak) Waggoner. He was employed with Wheelabrator-Frye Inc. for many years.

On May 27, 1950, Charles married Virginia E. Gervais, who survives. Surviving with his wife Virginia are his children, Jeffrey A. Waggoner of South Bend, Jacqueline "Jacque" Dall and husband, Mark of Indianapolis, Indiana; a grandson, Alexander Dall; and a brother, Bernard (Shirley) Waggoner of South Bend.

A sister, Charlotte Waggoner, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in Christ the King Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Waggoner was a WWll Army veteran and had been active in American Legion Post #357 since 1947, where he had served as adjunct and where his father, Leslie, had served as a past commander and his mother had served as a past commander of the Women's Auxiliary. He was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
