Richard F. "Sobie" Sobieralski

SOUTH BEND - Richard "Sobie" F. Sobieralski, 89, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014, in Memorial Hospital. Richard "Sobie" was born June 22, 1925, in South Bend, to the late Stephen and Sophie Sobieralski. Richard was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Kling; and son-in-law, Tom Knapp; brothers, Clem & Leo; and sisters, Lucille & Esther.

On June 5, 1955, in South Bend,  Richard married his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (Snider) Sobieralski, who survives along with their children, Leanne Knapp, Mark (Cindy), Daniel (Rhonda), Michael (Lisa Trzaskowski) and Gary (Nicole) Sobieralski, all of South Bend; grandchildren, Lindsay, Alyssa, Jaime, Sarah, Matt, LaVonne, Allen, Matthew, Cassandra, Kenny, Xavier and Gabrielle; and seven great-grandchildren.

Richard retired in 1988; he was the owner of Lil' Ceasar's Tavern for seventeen years. He was a sports fanatic, Notre Dame, Chicago White Sox, Bears, and Indianapolis Colts, and loved bowling. In 1986, he was inducted into the St. Joseph USBC Hall of Fame. Richard "Sobie" was member of the American Legion 357, PNA #83, Army Navy Club, St. Joe Club, Chain O Lakes Conservation Club, and the St. Joseph USBC Hall of Fame.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 pm Saturday, November 8, 2014, in the American Legion Post #357, 5414 W. Sample Street, South Bend, IN. ST.
