Eugene I. Risley

Eugene I.“Gene”Risley, 76, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 10:10 p.m.Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Mr.Risley was born on August 14, 1926, in Petersburg, IN.He retired after twenty-six years of service with Allied Products.He was currently employed with K Mart on Ireland Road.

On June 5, 1948, in St.Casimir Church, he married Clara J.Skubiszewski, who survives.Also surviving are his children, David E.(Connie) Risley of Muncie, IN, Jane A. (Terrance) Mahoney of Granger, IN; and his four grandchildren, Andrew Risley, Gregory Mahoney, Erin Mahoney and Kathryn Mahoney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m.Saturday, July 26, 2003, in St.Anthony de Padua Church.Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may called from 4 to 8 p.m.Friday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.

Mr.Risley was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of St.Anthony de Padua Parish, Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council No.553, and the American Legion Pulaski Post #357. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony de Padua Church, 2114 E.Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46617
