Clem Plencner

SOUTH BEND - Clem J. Plencner, 86, passed away at 11:30 pm Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle. Clem was born July 9, 1926, in South Bend, to the late Lawrence and Lottie (Romanowski) Plencner. On May 14, 1949, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, Clem married Sophie A. (Swizek) Plencner, who preceded him in death on January 26, 2008.
Survivors for Clem include sons, Alan Plencner of South Bend and Gary (Denice) Plencner of Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Clem honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from the Torrington Corporation and the Notre Dame Book Store; he was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church and a member of the choir. Clem was a member of American Legion Post 357, St. Joe Young Men's Club, and he was an avid stamp collector. Clem took excellent care of his yard and enjoyed gardening. He loved Notre Dame football and the Chicago Bears.
Visitation for Clem will be held 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a funeral service will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
