Anton “Tony” Piller
Sept. 12, 1927 – March 6, 2004
Anton “Tony” Piller, 76, of Bartonville, Ill., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:21 p.m.Saturday, March 6, in St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, Ill. Tony had been employed by Caterpillar in Peoria, was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of St.Anthony’s Church in Bartonville. He was born on Sept. 12, 1927, in South Bend to Anton and Katherine (Warga) Piller.
On Oct.4, 1980, in South Bend, he married the former Geraldine Weisel, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Karen (Ralph) Kennedy of Placentia, Calif., Michele (David) Piller of Quincy, Calif., Lori (John) Muscatiello of Indianapolis, Ind., and Robin (John) Yolcomb of Columbus, Ind.;two sons, Arthur (Lana) Piller of Bloomington, Ind., and Anthony (Sue) Piller of Memphis, Tenn.;numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Kenna and Eleanor Van Der Hagen, both of South Bend;and two sisters-in- law, Jean Borsodi and Arlene Killelea, both of South Bend.
Anton was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Shores;and by four brothers-in-law, Louis Kenna, Eugene Van Der Hagen, Jim Borsodi and John Killelea.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.CST Wednesday, March 10, in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 2525 S.Skyway Road, Bartonville. Burial will follow at St.John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Bartonville. Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10 a.m.Wednesday in the church. Zahoran Funeral Home handled the local arrangements
