Mr.John Henry Kelley Jr., 75, of South Lake Street, South Bend, Ind., departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in Williamsburg Village, Muncie, Ind. On Nov.12, 1927, in South Bend, Ind., John was born to the union of John Henry and Mary (Sellars) Kelley Sr., who both preceded him in death.He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Clarence Kelley;and by a sister, Juanita Kelley.

He served six years in the United States Marines and 22 years in the United States Army, after which he was honorably discharged.He was a former member of Pilgrim Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.

Those left to cherish his memory include five daughters, Sharon Holland of Atlanta, Ga., Diana Marciniak of South Bend, Vicki Kelley and Gwen Kelley, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Charise Kelley of Charleston, S.C.;two sons, John (Robin) Kelley III of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Scott Kelley of Albuquerque, N.M.;two stepdaughters, Vicki Richardson of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Peggy Marciniak of Neosho, Mo.;a stepson, Terry Marciniak of Mountain Home, Idaho;16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr.John Henry Kelley Jr., will be held at 10 a.m.on Tuesday, Sept.2, in Alford’s Mortuary, where friends may call one hour before services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford’s Mortuary
