ELKHART - Evelyn J. Taller, 84, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010, in Elkhart Hospice House. Evelyn was born on November 3, 1925, in South Bend, to the late John and Lillian (Dubczak) Zurat. On September 9, 1950, Evelyn married John A. Taller, who passed away on March 10, 2002. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Joseph and Richard Zurat, and a sister, Irene Grzegorek.

Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Pamela (John) Antalis of Lafayette; sons, John R. (Joan) Taller of Huntertown, IN, and James A. (Jessica) Taller of South Bend; grandchildren, Zachary (Sarah) Antalis, Erin (Aaron Peregrine) Antalis, Nathan Antalis, James Antalis, Kathleen Taller, Allison Taller, Rachel Taller, John A. Taller, Stephen Taller and Mariah Taller; great-granddaughters, Laura and Madeline Antalis; and a sister, Phyllis (Paul) Jacobs.

Evelyn was a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elkhart.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010, in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. For those who are unable to attend the funeral liturgy, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
