Regina M. (Wasielewski) Bednarek

Sept. 23, 1925 – Aug. 22, 2007 SOUTH BEND — Regina M. Bednarek, 81, passed away at 3:42 a.m.Wednesday, Aug.22, in Hospice House of St.

Joseph County. Regina was born on September 23, 1925, in South Bend, to Andrew and Janina (Libertowski) Wasielewski.On April 23, 1949, in St.Adalbert Catholic Church, she married Albin Bednarek, who passed away on November 20, 1986. In addition to her parents and husband, preceding her in death were an infant son, Albin in 1951, and three brothers, Thaddeus, Eugene and Ronnie.

Surviving Regina are her daughters, Laurie Bednarek of Mishawaka, Anne Marie (the late, Ricky) Haukaas and Andrea (Rex VanGundy) Bednarek, both of South Bend; and grandchildren, Ryan Haukaas of Mishawaka and Rachel Haukaas of South Bend.

Regina was a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of the Teamsters Retirees Local 364.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m.Friday, Aug.24, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m.Family and friends may gather from 9 to 10 a.m.on Saturday, Aug.25, in Holy Family Catholic Church.A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m.in the church.Burial will follow at St.Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
