John A. Taller

John A. Taller, 76, of Vista Lane, Elkhart, Ind., died at 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, in the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System. John was born Nov. 10, 1925, in South Bend, Ind., to Moricz and Julia (Gulyas) Taller.
On Sept. 9, 1950, while serving in the U.S. Navy, he married Evelyn Zurat, who survives. John and Evelyn raised three children. Surviving are a daughter, Pam (John) Antalis of Lafayette, Ind.; two sons, John (Joan) Taller of Huntertown, Ind., and Jim (Jessica) Taller of South Bend; and 10 grandchildren.
John was a veteran of World War Il and the Korean War, during which he served in the U.S. Navy. John was a member of the Society for Hungarian Philately, and was an avid stamp collector. He also volunteered to do taxes at the Elkhart YMCA since his retirement from Wheelebrator-Frye as a draftsman.
Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where there will be a Rosary said at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
