Michael Andrew Orey - Class Of 1944 VIEW PROFILE

Michael Andrew Orey Jr.

Michael A. Orey Jr., 73, of Medford, died Wednesday at the Virtua- West Jersey Hospital, Marlton. Born in South Bend, Ind., Mr. Orey lived in Overland Park, Kan., before moving to Medford in 1973. He was a 1950 graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., with a bachelor's degree in education.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. For 20 years he was employed by Alray Tire Co. in Pittsburgh as a sales representative and later as a vice president. After that he was a sales consultant for Miller Ford in Mount Holly, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Delta Tau fraternity and was the first president of Oak Knoll Condominium Association, Medford.

He was a member of the Washington High School Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Ind., a life member of VFW Medford Post 7677 and a parishioner of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Medford.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth; two sons, Stephen C. Sr. of East Grand Rapids, Mich., and Michael A. of Athens, Ga.; a daughter, Katherine A. Orey of Medford, and four grandchildren.

Friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 at Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, and Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Hartford Road, Medford, where a burial Mass and Requiem will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Church, 1 Hartford Road, Medford 08055.
