Chester P. Krawiec, 76, of Western Avenue, South Bend, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2002, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Krawiec was born on September 9, 1925, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Anna Krawiec and was a lifelong area resident. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Genevieve Krawiec and by two brothers, Edward Krawiec and Stanley Krawiec

Mr. Krawiec is survived by four nephews, David Krawiec of New Carlisle, Indiana, and Gregory, Michael and Eddy Krawiec, all of South Bend; a niece, Tammy Salbo of South Bend; and a brother, Casey Krawiec of Mishawaka, Indiana.

Mr. Krawiec was the owner of Starlite Pizza, where he worked for 45 years, and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM, Tuesday, August 27, 2002, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2002, in the funeral home, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for the Homeless, 813 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46601.
