Bernard "Barney" Gornes (Gorniewicz)

Bernard Gornes, 54, of Arlington, Tex.., formerly of South Bend, died Monday in the New England Medical Center, Boston, Mass., after suffering an apparent heart attack while on business there. He was a senior corporate accountant for the Associates Corp. Born on Oct. 10, 1925, in South Bend, he had lived here most of his life here.

On June 26, 1948, in South Bend, he married Dorothy J. Mezykowski, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Miss Sharon Gornes, of Dallas; a son, Gregory, of Arlington, Tex., and a brother, Casimer, of Indianapolis.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Rev. Melvin ilerber, asso-. ciate pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday
