Viola Jane (Boros) Pritchard

Viola Jane Pritchard, 74, of 2006 Ontario Road, Niles, Mich., died unexpectedly but of natural causes at 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Pritchard was born on Oct. 12, 1925, in South Bend, to the late Paul and Mary A. (Hanak) Boros Sr.
On Feb. 3, 1945, in South Bend, she married Harry Alfred Pritchard, who died on Aug. 10, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Erin Nicole Keppler on May 2, 2000; and by two brothers, Andrew Boros in 1994 and Paul A. Boros Jr. in 1987.
She had lived in this area most of her life. For many years she and her husband maintained a winter residence in Mission, Texas. In 1982 she retired from South Bend Community Schools after many years at Darden School. She was a member of Fulkerson Park Baptist Church in Niles. Mrs. Pritchard participated in Teamster spouses' activities, and enjoyed playing euchre, golfing in Texas leagues, flower gardening, and caring for her family.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Greg) Gunder and Don (Robin) Pritchard of Buchanan, Mich., Larry (Pat) Pritchard of South Bend, Diana Pritchard and Rob (Kay) Pritchard of Niles; grandchildren, Jason Gunder, Melissa (Thom) McNeely, Carol and Rob Keppler, Tammy (Jim) Hickman, Valerie, Nicholas, Angela and Justin Pritchard, Kaycee (Mike) Wagley and Pepper Bennett; great-! McKenna Keppler, Corey and Kyle Hickman, Ashley Simpson, Allison Wagley, Chelsey Bennett, Brittany and Thomas McNeely; sisters, Mary Stull, Irene (Bob) Seeley of South Bend and Helen Witucki of Stevensville, Mich.; brother, Robert (Sharon) Boros of South Bend; and by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, in the Fulkerson Park Baptist Church, with Pastor Edward Villalba of the church officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 12, in the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulkerson Park Baptist Church or to the Leukemia Foundation
