Wallace "Wally" Wagner, of 116 Main Street. Buchanan, Mich died on Sunday morning. May 4, 1997, in the home of his sister. Dolores Boomershine in South Bend, Ind
Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p m (Michigan time) on Friday May 9. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Buchanan. Burial will take place In Oak Ridge Cemetery. Buchanan, with military rites by American Legion Post 51 of Buchanan Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p m (Michigan time) on Thursday, May 8. at the Swem Funeral Home 301 W. Front Street, Buchanan Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home of St Joseph County. Ind.
Mr. Wagner was born Oct 13. 1924. in Detroit. Mich. He moved to Buchanan in 1972 from South Bend, when he and his partner the late William H. Maycroft opened the B&W Old Village Inn at 116 Main Street in Buchanan. Mr Wagner "Wally" continued operat ing the B&W Village Inn until February 1997. when he retired due to illness.
He was a veteran of World War Il. serving in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Post No 51 American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3102 of Buchanan.
He is survived by his mother Ethel Scolere of South Bend. two sisters, Dolores Boomershine of South Bend and Betty Wagner of Spring Hill, Fla, a niece. Sandra Harrison of South Lake. Texas. a great-niece, Lauren Harrison, and great-nephew, Kyle Harrison both of South Lake, Texas
