Alfred Alfonse “AL” Mezzei

Mr. Alfred A. Mezzei, 87, of Temple Terrace, Florida passed away October 1, 2012, at Melech Hospice House. Born in South Bend, Indiana, he was a resident of Temple Terrace for over 55 years. Al was an Army veteran who proudly served in World War II. He was an original member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and was employed as a machinist with the American Can Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Eleanor, and is survived by his sons, Alfred D. Mezzei of Lutz and John Mezzei (Lisa) of Zephyrhills; daughter Jayne Cartwright of Temple Terrace; and grandchildren, Chandler, Kelli, Shannon, Michaela and Matthew.

A memorial Mass and military honors at Florida National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to LifePath Hospice or Moffitt Cancer Center.
