Joseph S. Magiera

Joseph S. Magiera, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in the Hospice House of St. Joseph County. Joe was born August 17, 1925 in Dowagiac to the late Joseph and Louise (Taberski)Magiera. Joe is also preceded in death by a brother, Edmund F. Magiera.

Survivors of Joe include nephews, Tim (Carol) Magiera, and Mike (Judy Parmley) Magiera of South Bend; sister, Mary Magiera of South Bend; great-niece, Angela (Aaron) Culp of South Bend; great-great nieces, Sophia Culp, and Isabella Culp of South Bend.

Joe honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the Bendix Corporation where he was draftsman for over 40 years. Joe was a parishioner of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. He was very good hearted; he always donated money to the food bank, American Heart Association, the Humane Society and many other organizations.

Visitation for Joseph will be 9:00am to 11:00am Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Rd. where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.
