Joseph T. Jelinski, 77, of North Kaley Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away following a short illness on Monday, Oct 21, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Joseph was born on Jan. 14, 1925, in South Bend, to the late Vincent and Blanche (Patulski) Jelinski. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Florian "Floyd," Ervin and Richard Jelinski.

On Sept 27, 1947, he married Virginia Chmielewski, who survives. Joseph is also survived by two daughters, Charlotte (Harry) Striker of Oak Hartxx, Ohio, and Janet (Craig) Siders of South Bend; six grandchildren, Thomas (Carta) Striker of Toledo, Ohio, John Striker of Danville, Va, Lisa and Raul Striker of Oak Hartxx, and Emily and Alison Siders of South Bend.

Mr. Jelinski was employed by the South Bend Fire Department before retiring in 1970. He was also the owner of the Cut-Rite Glass Company..
