Casimer A. "Smoke" Hyduk, 63, of 837 Garden Lane, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday in his home. Mr. Hyduk was a painter for Stanley Enterprises Inc. for 32 years. He was born Jan. 20, 1925, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Sept. 4, 1948, in Bronson, Mich., he married Frances Kibiloski, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Jo Holzwart of South Bend; two sons, Greg A. and David L, both of South Bend; four grandchildren; four sisters, Lillian Skandis, Ann Mikolczak and Helen Dombrowski, all of South Bend, and Marce Yesh of Bronson; and a brother, John of South Bend.

A son, Paul R., died April 29. 1973.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Hyduk was a member of American Legion Pulaski Post 357, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 58 and the Breezers Club, and was a veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
