John C. Horvath, 57, formerly of South Bend, died Wednesday in the Indiana State Soldiers' Home, Lafayette, after a lengthy illness. He was a former employee of the Studebaker and Torrington companies. Born on May 23, 1924, in South Bend, he lived here most of his life.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marlene Conn of South Bend; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Veronica Fodrocy and Mrs. Helen Gosztola, both of Granger, Mrs. Marie Tate of Mishawaka and Ms. Rose Horvath of South Bend; and four brothers, Michael of Oakley, Kan., Joseph of Sun City, Ariz., Alex of Edwardsburg and Frank of South Bend.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholie Church. Rev. Robert Mahoney, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home. He was a World War II Army veteran
