Irene H. (Boosi) Martin

July 19, 1925 – Aug. 25, 2007 SOUTH BEND — Irene H. Martin, 82, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, Aug.25, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Irene was born in South Bend on July 19, 1925, to Elek and Cecilia (Kish) Boosi.

She married Kenneth V.Martin on December 1, 1962, who survives her along with a stepson and a stepdaughter;a sister, Elizabeth (Carl) Granning;a sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Louis) Boosi;nine nieces and nephews;and eight step- grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her five brothers, Julius, John, Joseph, Louis and Stephen;and three sisters, Ann Tompkins, Patricia Talboom and Helen Boosi. Irene retired from Bendix in 1975 after 32 years of employment. The family would like to thank the staff of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Our Lady of Peace Hospital and Regional Home Health Care, Elkhart, for their kindness.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m.today, Aug.28, at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.ST.JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.Mayflower Road, is assisting the family with arrangements. For those who are unable to attend the graveside service, condolences for the family may be sent to www.sjfh.net .
