Martha C. (Wawryzyniak) Lombardi

SOUTH BEND - Martha C. Lombardi, 91, of South Bend, died Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Morningside Nursing Home. She was born February 23, 1925, in South Bend, to the late Katherine (Wolowska) and Andrew Wawrzyniak. Also preceding her in death were a son, Patrick Banach; sisters, Virginia, Helen, and Henrietta; and brothers, Walter, Edward, Fred, and Ted. She is survived by a daughter, Maria Theresa “Terri” Sites (Bob) of Goshen, IN; son, Mark “Andy” Lombardi (Lori) of South Bend; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha worked as a clerk at Bendix and Uniroyal. She was a member of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church and assisted the church with funeral lunches and the food bank of the church. Martha was a member of the Uniroyal Ladies Club and a member of VFW Post 360 Auxiliary.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd., and one hour prior to funeral services in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016. According to her wishes, cremation will follow in the Welsheimer Crematory.
