John Emil Futa

SOUTH BEND - John E. Futa, 72, of Scenic Drive, South Bend, Ind., died at 3:14 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Mr. Futa retired from the South Bend Fire Department, and also from Wygant Floral Company.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1923, in South Bend, Ind. and was a lifelong area resident. On Nov. 16, 1946, in South Bend, Ind, he married Delphine Radecki, who survives, with one daughter, Sharon Futa, of South Bend, Ind. and a sister, Rita Carroll, of South Bend, Ind. Mr. Futa was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Futa. He died Jan. 25, 1996.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. today, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, Ind. A parish rosary will be recited at 4p.m. this afternoon.
Mr. Futa was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357, and of the St. Joseph Young Men's Society.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
