Stanley Gene Dubicki

SOUTH BEND - Stanley passed away peacefully "on his own terms" on July 29, 2012, at Moosehaven in Orange Park, FL, where he had resided happily since 1999. He was born in South Bend, IN, on December 17, 1921, to the late Alex and Stella Dubicki. He graduated from Purdue University in 1949, where he excelled both on and off the football field. He proudly served in the United States Marines Corps stationed in Hawaii.

On July 1, 1950, he married the love of his life, Esther Dorothy Urbanski, who left this world on July 23, 2009. Stanley was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank, and sisters, Dorothy, Helen Snowden and Joan Tucker.

Stanley's other love was for the game of golf, in which he was not only avid, but respectful and quite good; time well spent and a perfect day out was playing 18 holes!! His passion for "playing the odds" in football, golf or cards played out to the very end. A private service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012, followed by entombment in the Moosehaven Mausoleum.

Stanley is survived by his loving daughter, Cynthia Ann of Laguna Niguel, CA, and sister, Bernice Frick of South Bend, IN, as well as countless other people fortunate enough to have known him, and proud to have called him a friend.
