South Bend, IN — Yvonne M. Strauch, 79, residing on East Indiana Avenue, South Bend, passed away at 5:45 a.m.on Thursday, April 17, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, of natural causes. Mrs.Strauch was born on Sept. 16, 1923, in South Bend, to the late Felix and Bertha (DeSplenter) DeVolder.She has been a lifelong resident of South Bend.

On Sept. 2, 1950, in South Bend, she married Charles J.Strauch, who preceded her in death on Dec.2, 2001.

Mrs.Strauch was a librarian with the South Bend Public Library for over 30 years.She was also a member of the Cathedral of St. Matthew, South Bend.

Mrs.Strauch is survived by a son, Mark A.(Deborah McCann) Strauch of Columbia, Md.;and a brother, Andrew (Alyce) DeVolder of Portage, Mich.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m.on Wednesday, April 23, in the Cathedral of St.Matthew, South Bend.Rev.Robert VanKempen will officiate.Private burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
