Charles Steinhofer - Class Of 1941 VIEW PROFILE

Charles M. Steinbofer Sr.

VANDALIA Charles M. Steinhofer, 64, of 17343 Lakeview Drive, died about 2:55 p.m. Monday, July 13, 1987, in Pawatlng Hospital Niles, after an illness.

Mr. Steinhofer retired as director of finance for the U.S. Postal Service in South Bend. He was born Sept 13, 1922, in South Bend and moved to Vandaiia in 1972.

On Nov. 28, 1942, In South Bend, he married the former Dorothy M. CelichowskL She survives with a daughter, Patrice M, Terio of Oak Forest, 111.; two sons, Charles M. Jr. of Louisville, Ky., and Michael E at home; a sister, Barbara Horvath of Owosso, Mich.; and two brothers, John Jack of South Bend and Dennis A. of Lexington, Ky.

Mr. Steinhofer was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1855, Dowagiac, and American Legion Post 284, South Bend, of which he was a past commnander.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Ann Catholic Church,-Cassopolis. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis, where a prayer service will begin at 7 p.m.
