Joseph J.Smiecinski, 83, of Edwardsburg, MI, passed away at 6:55 a.m.Wednesday, September 6, 2006, in his home.
Joseph was born on December 22, 1922, in South Bend, IN, to Joseph C. Smiecinski Sr.and Angela (Lemanski) Smiecinski.
He was employed as a Milk Delivery Man with National and Hawthorne.

On October 26, 1946, in St.Hedwig Church, he married Virginia Sobczak, who preceded him in death on November 25, 1992.
Also preceding him in death were a sister, Julia Wieczorek; a brother, Chester Smiecinski; and a grandson, Matthew.
Survivors include his second angel on earth, Thelma Antus of Edwardsburg, MI; three sons, Charles (Beth) Smiecinski of South Bend, IN, Robert (Barbara) Smiecinski of South Bend, IN, and Paul (Karen) Smiecinski of Vandalia, MI; four grandchildren, Carla, Gina, Robert and Joey; his extended family, Joseph Antus of Niles, MI, Bob (Barbara) Antus of South Bend, IN, Jeannine (Troy) Antus-Koncar of California, Rolanda Antus of Niles, MI, Patrick (Lisa) Antus of Armada, MI; and by many grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m.Monday, September 11, 2006, in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Edwardsburg, MI, with Rev.Joe McCormick, OSA, and Rev. Peter Jarret, C.S.C., officiating. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. on Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.

Joseph was a W.W. II Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #365 and the Golden Agers of Edwardsburg, MI.
He was a lifetime member of the Holy Name Society of St.Hedwig Church. He enjoyed fishing and teasing his friends, and was an avid University of Notre Dame football fan.
