Rosetta Esther (DeLoof) January

Rosetta E. January, 87, residing in South Bend, passed away at 6:40 am, Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Rosetta was born April 9, 1923 to Achiel and Marie Augusta (Heynssens) DeLoof in South Bend, and remained a lifelong resident of the area.

Mrs. January was a real estate and right of way agent with I & M Electric for 25 years before retiring. She married Harlan W. "Pete" January, who survives. She enjoyed dancing.

In addition to her husband, Pete, Rosetta is survived by one daughter, Eileen; three sons, James, Roger and Gregory; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Rosetta will be 1:00 pm, Monday, January 17, 2011 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the funeral home on Monday prior to services.
