Anne M. (Walko) Lichkai

March 27, 1919 - Feb. 19, 1999

Anne M. Lichkai, 79, residing in South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1:48 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, from injuries she had sustained in an automobile crash. Mrs. Lichkai was born on March 27, 1919, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Anthony and Rose Walko. She had lived most of her life in this area.

She retired from K-Mart in South Bend, having served as a cashier for more than 10 years.

On Nov. 11, 1944, in South Bend, as-Anne Walko, she married Alex J. Lichkai, who also preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1994. She is survived by her two sons, Jim Lichkai and Alan Lichkai, both of South Bend; one grandson, Adam Lichkai of Mishawaka, Ind.; two great grandsons, Dylan and Tyler Lichkai, both at home in Mishawaka; and by a sister, Helen Walko of Mishawaka.

Services for Mrs. Lichkai were held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin of the Northway Church of Christ officiated. The family received friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday in the Palmer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Father Roger Edmundite Missions, 1428 Broad Street, Selma, AL 36701-9989.
