Gisella M. (Scheidl) Modos

SOUTH BEND - Gisella M. Gay" Modos, 72, of South Nash Street, died at 1 p.m. Friday in her sisters home. She retired in 1981 as a registered nurse with Dr. Feldman after 23 years of service. From 1981 to 1986, she worked with Dr. Zia Chowhan.

She was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Reiding, Austria. Mrs. Modos lived in the area since 1929, coming from Austria. On June 14, 1944, in South Bend, as Gisella Scheidl, she married John J. Modos. He died Feb. 23, 1983.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Jo Jaske or South Bend; two sons, Robert of Mishawaka and John L. of South Bend; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Kiereim of South Bend.

She was a member of Rum Village Neighborhood Association, National Catholic Nurses and St. Mary of the Assumption Alumni Association, and was a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul Society.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church
