Lucille (Pieters) Welty

Lucille Welty, 59, of 1612 Churchill, died at 5:35 p.m. Sunday in St Josephs Hospital after a one-year illness. Bom on Dec. 19, 1920, in South Bend, she lived here all her life.

As Lucille Pieters, she married Lester R. Welty, on Aug. 29, 1943, in South Bend. He survives along with a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Donna) Peyema of Frankfort, IN.; a son, Scott of Joliet, IL. ; six grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Reginald (Alice) Grimm of Portland, OR., and Mrs. Henry (Marie) DeFreeuw of Phoenix, AZ.

Services were to be at 10 a.m. today in the First English Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mishawaka. Rev. Samuel P. Diehl was to officiate. Burial was in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park. The Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, was in charge of arrangements. Memonal contributions may be made to the church, She was a member of the church and the Morris Park Country Club.
