Walter Hyduk - Class Of 1939 VIEW PROFILE

Walter A. Hyduk

Walter A. Hyduk, 60, of 505 Crimson Drive NE died Sunday in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a short illness. A resident of the Cedar Rapids and Marion area since 1963, Mr. Hyduk was bom Nov. 11, 1919, at DuBois, Pa.

He was married to Caroline Barber in England on May 5, 1944. She died in 1964. Mr. Hyduk then married Geraldine Kittlesby Schoeben on Dec. 4, 1971.

He was a graduate of Indiana State University and served with the Air Force during World War II. He was a salesman for Tyler Refrigeration and Chase Metals for many years and had been employed by Katz Salvage the past two years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion, Marion Post 298 of the American Legion and the Indian Creek Country Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Brian of Peosta, Barry of Keokuk and Kevin of Marion; one daughter, Mrs.- Michael Vint of Marshalltown; two stepsons, James- and William Schoeben, both of Cedar Rapids; four brothers, John, Mike and Charles, all of South Bend, Ind., and Joe of Johnson Cfty, Tenn.; four sisters, Mrs. George Yesh of Bronson, Mich., and Mrs. Clem Michajazek, Mrs. Pete Skandis and Mrs. Ervin Dombrowski, all of South Bend, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Josephs Catholic Church by the Rev. John Gallagher. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends ' may call after noon Tuesday at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established.
