Lucille “Lu” (Bonkowski) Van Paris

South Bend – Lucille "Lu" Van Paris, 89, passed away at 9:55am on Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Memorial Hospital.

Lu was born on August 25, 1921, in LaPorte, IN to the late Stanley and Jennie (Leszczynski) Bonkowski. On June 1, 1946, she married L.R. Van Paris. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Bonkowski.

Lu is survived by her daughter, Linda (James) Laskowski of South Bend; two grandchildren, Jamie (Sandra) Laskowski of Atlanta, GA and Jason (Jaime) Laskowski of Menlo Park, CA; four great-grandchildren, Sofia, Luca, Clara and Indiana; and by her two nieces, Cathi (Michael) Sullivan and Pamela (Greg) Robinson.

She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a member of the Christ Child Society.
