Helen Frances (Andrzejak) Kalamaja

South Bend- Helen F. Kalamaja, 88, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, June 26th, in the Sanctuary at St. Joseph.
Helen was born on November 6, 1920 to the late Frank and Jadwiga (Kwestorowski) Andrzejak. In 1945, in South Bend, Helen married Harry J. Kalamaja and he passed away in 1976.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela (Darrell E. Merrill) Kalamaja; and good friends, Helen Jesensky and Mary Stephien.

Helen was an avid gardner, gourmet cook and she loved her pets. She was a parishioner at St. Adalbert Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, where family and friends may gather one hour prior to the Mass. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, is assisting the family with arrangements.
