Roberta L. (Vernon) Candler

Roberta L. Candler, 80, of South Bend, IN passed away at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Signature Health Care, South Bend. She was born on January 28, 1934 in Nashville, TN to the late Robert Vernon and Dora E. Jones.

On July 4, 1952 in South Bend, IN she married Eugene Candler. Mrs. Candler is survived by her husband, Eugene Candler; two sons, Robert (Janet) Candler of Niles, MI and Barry (Cathi) Candler of South Bend, IN; daughter, Glenda (Dennis) Morman of South Bend, IN; eight grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Allen Brittain and sister, Nettie Caldwell.

Mrs. Candler lived most of her life in South Bend. She worked in the day care center at Fellowship Baptist Church, where she was a member.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 4849 Ford Street, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend and one hour prior Monday at church.
