Robert Lee Saltzgaber, 63, of Lincolnway West, Osceola, Ind., passed away in the early evening of Wednesday, Sept. 3, at his home. Mr.

Saltzgaber was born in Mishawaka, Ind., to Wilbur and Hertha Saltzgaber on Nov. 10, 1933. On June 4, 1978, he married Jill Kollar in Plymouth, Ind. She survives. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Hoover of Plymouth; three nieces, Candice Smith of Granger, Ind., Shelley Kay Kollar and Beth Ann Kollar, both of Osceola; three nephews, John Hoover, Jr., of Culver, Ind., Tyler Kollar and Jake Kollar, both of Granger; and by two aunts, Martha Griffith of St. Joseph, Mich., and Lillian Barry of Benton Harbor, Mich.

Mr. Saltzgaber, who was formerly of South Bend and Mishawaka, was currently an art teacher at Penn High School. He was also assistant director of the Drama Club at Penn. Prior to working at Penn High, he was an art instructor at St. Joseph High School and worked at the Bendix Corporation. He was a member of the Pennway Church of God, Mishawaka, and was chairman of the board of trustees at the church. He was a former representative for the Indiana State Teachers Association, and former vice president of the Northern Indiana Artists Association.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Pennway Church of God, Mishawaka, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
