SOUTH BEND - Jack M. Milliken, 82, of South Bend, passed away Thursday, December 10th, of natural causes. Mr. Milliken was born September 13, 1933, in South Bend, to the late Earos and Floyd H. Milliken, and was a lifetime area resident.

On October 9, 1982, in South Bend, he married Mary A. Kaplon (Taylor), who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Michele Wyatt (Kerry) of South Bend, Debbie Morris of Mill Creek, IN, and Diana Lips of South Bend; daughter- in-law, Theresa Kaplon of South Bend; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and other children, Maryann, Patti, Rick, Randy, Pamela and Cheryl.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Kaplon; and siblings, Enid Frederick, and Kenneth and Richard Milliken.

Jack retired from St. Mary’s College in 1998 as an electrician. He attended West Side Church of Christ. He loved sports and was a very accomplished bowler and softball player. He was a very dedicated Notre Dame fan and a diehard Cubs fan. He loved to travel, listening to barber shop quartets, had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services for Jack will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. John McCann of West Side Church of Christ officiating. Committal services and burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 14th, from 4 until 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jack’s name may be made to West Side Church of Christ, 22987 Edison Rd., South Bend, IN 46628; The American Cancer Society, P.O.
