Casimer “Casey” J. Krawiec, 71, of Brenden Rise Lane, Mishawaka, passed away Saturday December 25th at 7: 48 a.m. in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center South Bend after an illness.

Casimer was born on February 15, 1933 in South Bend as the son of Joseph and Anna (Lis) Krawiec. Casimer was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Genevieve Krawiec and Helen Marcinkowski; and three brothers Edward, Stanley and Chester Krawiec.

On August 25, 1962 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church South Bend he married the former Mary Louise Widmar, who survives. 

Casey was a United States Naval Veteran serving in the Korean War as a Petty Officer 3rd Class. He was a carpenter from Skyline Corporation in Elkhart for 31 years before retiring in July of 1997. He also worked for the former White Farm equipment Company in South Bend for 12 years. Casey was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church South Bend and a member of American Legion Post 357 in South Bend and the PNA.

Friends and family may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday December 28th in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic South Bend, with Rev. Leonard Chrobot, pastor of St. Patrick’s, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery Granger, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Building Fund, 309 Taylor Street, South Bend, IN 46601
