Mary (Kania) Pawlak
Dec 8, 1934 - May 29, 2017
Mary Pawlak, 82, of Seney, passed from this life Monday evening May 29, 2017 at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry.
Born December 8, 1934 in South Bend, IN, daughter of the late John and Frances (Rumak) Kania, Mary married Stanley Pawlak on August 15, 1953 and had been a resident of Seney since 2000.
Mary loved the small community of Seney and, most of all, enjoyed the people. She was an avid gardener and loved the beauty in her flowers and garden. She enjoyed coloring, crocheting and knitting. She was most proud of her old time polish cooking especially her cabbage and pierogi. Mary was very active in the Seney Township election board. Her feisty personality and concern for her family and friends will be missed.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband Stanley on August 19, 2013; sister Angie Kloski.
Survivors include her children Cathy (Larry) Snyder of Pentwater and Ft. Myers, FL, Thomas (Doreen) Pawlak of Ypsilanti, Rose Grams of Custer, Sue (James) St. John of Ludington and William Pawlak of Ypsilanti; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and all of her "adopted" grandchildren in Seney.
Per her request, cremation services were accorded. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mary Pawlak will be held Saturday June 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Seney Mennonite Church with Elijah Schlabach presiding.
God has called you home Mom. You are now at peace with Jesus.
