Virginia Mae “Ginny” (Eckenberger) Lewinski

Virginia M. "Ginny" Lewinski, 81, passed away peacefully with her son and daughter by her side on May 6, 2015. Born January 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Juanita (Trittipo) Eckenberger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lewinski; four brothers, Benny, William, Max and Ira "Bill;" and one stepson, Tim Lewinski.

Left to cherish her memory are two children, Valerie Eckenberger of South Bend and Allan Ecken-berger of Mishawaka; three stepsons, Gerald (Charlotte) of St. Louis, MO, Mark (Tuyen) of Milford, IN, and David (Jane) Lewinski of Lakeville; two sisters, Janice Conlon of South Bend and Elizabeth Walsh of LaPorte; five brothers, Emil Ecken-berger of Mishawaka, John Aydelotte of Poplar Bluff, MO, Tom (Pat) Bolinger of South Bend, Terry Eckenberger of Fort Myers, FL, and Dennis (Mary) Eckenberger of South Bend; 1 granddaughter, 8 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Virginia was a simple lady who found peace and love being with her family. They brought her the most joy. She enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby and will be remembered for always starting the family Notre Dame football board. She was dearly loved and will be missed. Per her requests, private services will be held by the family at a later date.
