In Memory
Daniel Richard Buczynski
Daniel Richard Buczynski, 90 of Parma, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home on January 26, 2025. Dan was born April 11, 1934, in South Bend, Indiana to Thomas and Mary Buczynski. He was a graduate of Washington High school and the University of Notre Dame (Engineering) and was a resident of South Bend/Mishawaka for over 46 years. He was a parishioner at St. Adalbert’s then St. Bavo’s Catholic Churches.
He married Elizabeth “Betty” Katherine Trimboli Buczynski at St. Monica’s on April 12, 1958. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Buczynski, his parents, Thomas and Mary Buczynski, and son Terrence (Terry) Buczynski.
Surviving are three children, Tamara (Gregory) Vallo (Parma, OH), Timothy (Sharon) Buczynski (Granger, IN), and Thomas (Mary Ann) Buczynski (Westlake, OH). Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Julie (Dustin) Beckwith, Kylene (Christopher) Polhamus, Nicholas (Clare Czolgosz) Buczynski, Ryan (Khadijah) Vallo, Eric Vallo, Adam (Ashley) Vallo, and Paul (Abigail) Buczynski, and ten great-grandchildren, Luca and Oliver Beckwith, Charles, Joseph and Brielle Elizabeth Polhamus, Adalynn and Alaya Vallo, Ubaid Niazi Vallo, Jaxson Miller, and Charlotte Buczynski.
In his early years, Dan worked at Bendix, South Bend, Indiana, coincidently, so did Betty. They both drove pink ramblers, with different color interiors which they’d sometimes confuse and get into the wrong car. Their first official meeting was at a CYO dance. He later worked at Skyline in Elkhart, Indiana then B.F. Goodrich in Cleveland, Ohio.
His religious beliefs were deep, and he had unwavering faith to God throughout his life. He was also a devoted, loving, and caring husband to Betty. Family was always the most important thing in his life along with his beloved Notre Dame Football. He also loved fishing and sitting on his deck watching the deer and birds.
Terry was born with Down Syndrome, beginning a new chapter in their life, he was the center of their world. Terry was his “little buddy” and went everywhere with him.
The family thanks Harmony Cares (Cleveland, OH), Grace Hospice (Northeast Region, OH), and many home caregivers for the loving care given to him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 10:00-11:30 at St Monica’s Catholic Church, 222 W Mishawaka Ave, Mishawaka, Indiana followed by a mass of Christian Burial with Father Jason Freiburger officiating.
