Joan Mae Sheets, 88 passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022. Born September 22, 1934 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Russell and Bernice (Deal) Allen.

She was a teachers aid for Fort Wayne Community Schools for over 20 years. Joan was a devoted member to St. Therese Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to the Fort Wayne Parks & Rec Community Center "The Center" for activities such as crafting, making and selling tea cozies and aprons. Joan also had a passion for crocheting, flower arranging, making blankets, and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress.

She was also preceded in passing by her husband, William Sheets; great-granddaughter, Layla Presley; and brother, Thomas Allen.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809. Burial to follow the service at Catholic Cemetery.
