Christine A. “Chris” (Piekarski) Sobczak

CHRISTINE A. SOBCZAK, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018. Born April 14, 1934, in South Bend, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Kitkowski) Piekarski. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard Sobczak; sons, Robert (Tammy) Sobczak and John (Amy) Sobczak; daughter-in-law, Dr. Kimberly Lansdowne; grandchildren, Adam (Tricia), Ashleigh (Andrew Wood), Benjamin (Amara), Abigail (Jason Marshall), Riley, and Alison Sobczak; brother, Thomas (Gloria) Piekarski; sister-in-law, Marcia Piekarski; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Lori) and Kenneth (Rita) Sobczak; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by her son, Donald A. Sobczak; and brothers, Daniel and Richard Piekarski.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Highland Park Chapel of Chimes and will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to masses at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. Arrangements have been entrusted to Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne.
